Kast Hill Studio Mosaic Events and Happenings!

I thought I better post my Events Calendar in a slightly more prominent place on this site so you all won’t miss these opportunities for some great summer fun! Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions…it’s gonna be a super busy season for us all!

Keene Art Walk, Keene, NH, June 8 & 9, from 9am to 3pm both days. I’ll be at Railroad Square on Main Street leading a Community Mosaic Project from 9am until 3pm. This event is free and open to everyone as part of the “Paint Out” event held each year at this time. Maps will be available at the event. I’ll be leading a rockin’ Community Mosaic Project at the brand new Granite State Music Festival, outdoors at the Riverfront Park at Everett Arena, Concord, NH. Come hear live bands, enjoy great music, check out the Concord Arts Market artisans and craftspeople. The GSMF is a two day, non-camping, non-profit festival and will take place on June 23 & 24. All proceeds go to benefit the Concord Community Music School; the largest employer of musicians in Vt, NH and Maine! http://granitestatemusicfest.org/index

Intro to Mosaics workshop at the Vermont Carving Studio and Sculpture Center, West Rutland, Vt. I’ll be teaching again June 30th and July 1st. This is a two day introductory course for anyone who loves mosaic and would like to learn how to create an indoor mosaic panel. If you’ve taken this before, don’t worry! You can always benefit from practicing your skills. In addition, this year I’ll be talking more about color, composition and mixed materials. My mosaics will be featured at Apotheca Flowers and Tea Chest, Goffstown, NH for the month of July! Reception date to be announced soon… To be followed by a Mosaics to Go! workshop on July 14th from 3-6pm. Fee is $45 and includes all materials for a finished mosaic panel that you can take home and hang or give as a gift. Please contact Apotheca to register for the workshop.

Market Days Festival, Concord, NH, July 19, 20 & 21. Newly renamed and revamped, the festival will feature more local businesses and vendors. As a Concord Arts Market participant of the past, I can say I am thrilled to be back again at a new location on Main Street in front of the State Capitol Building. I’ll be leading a Community Mosaic Project, this year there will be a surprise!

Shelburne Museum Art and Craft Festival, Shelburne, VT, July 27, 28 and 29. I’ll be here leading a huge Community Mosaic Project! We’ll raffle it off at the end of the event and I’ll share proceeds with the Shelburne Craft School.
Returning this year to the Shelburne Museum, this festival hosts 150 artists and artisans in media ranging from hand-thrown pottery to fine silver and gold jewelry to contemporary furniture. With a great selection of food and drinks, live entertainment and ongoing craft demonstrations, this festival celebrates the best of summer in Vermont in a beautiful and easily accessible location. Adults $8, get a coupon if you join their mailing list, kids 12 and under free. What a great mini-vacation!

Canterbury Artisan Festival, Canterbury Shaker Village, Canterbury, NH
September 15 & 16. 10 am to 5pm both days
I’ll be here with another fun Community Mosaic Project that we’ll raffle off at the end of the event and I’ll share proceeds with the Village.
“The Canterbury Artisan Festival will be a celebration of craft, music and food. The Craft Fair & Farmer’s Market will be a strong focus of the event, with individual vendor tents dotting the lane, for a festive fair atmosphere. We’ve got great music including The Amy Black Band, Three Tall Pines, Chasing Blue, Crunchy Western Boys and Jordan Tirrell-Wysocki. All with a Beer Garden to boot! We’re offering a special $12 ticket for the event, $6 for kids 6-17, kids 5 and under enter free of charge.”
